Obama's National Security Adviser Says Iran May Attack Israel....

From Weasel Zippers:

Just the excuse Israel would need...

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama's national security adviser is citing a heightened risk that Iran will respond to growing pressure over its nuclear program by stoking violence against Israel.

The adviser, retired Marine Gen. James Jones, said history shows that when regimes are feeling pressure they can lash out through surrogates.

He said that in Iran's case that would mean facilitating attacks on Israel through Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza. Iran helps arm Hezbollah and Hamas.

This would have hardly raised an eyebrow had it not been for one particular detail: The school is Islamic, funded by the government of Saudi Arabia. The Islamic Saudi Academy, located in Fairfax County, has long been under the microscope of its opponents. But for residents along the two-lane country road where the school sits, the debate was transformed from a local land-use issue into a heated discussion about the school, its teachings and the relationships between Muslims and non-Muslims in the United... Yeah! This pops up quite a bit. The school is draconian, most definitely preaches Islamic supremacy and its world's maps do not have the country of Israel on them! The locals have been up in arms since its beginning, being called racist, of course, for their concerns.

Is this the school also where recent terrorists have studied? I'm not sure, but there have been at least two recently detained terrorists who attended some Islamic school in the US, this may be the one, not sure?

The Saudis support this school with their tons of money. Their motives are apparent to anyone who can see and can take the heat of even stupid Americans calling them racist and reactionary. I hope the locals and all of America starts reacting harder. These schools, and there are many, need to be vigilantly monitored and, imo, closed. But good luck with that in this politically correct/multicultural atmosphere and our free institutions that are literally handing these animals are country on a platter.

I would dispute the NPR's information:

"In Northern Virginia, a private school needed the local county's approval to expand to serve more students. This would have hardly raised an eyebrow had it not been for one particular detail: The school is Islamic, funded by the government of Saudi Arabia.

Actually, Fairfax County is typically not very amenable to the founding and the expansion of private schools in general. Having worked for nearly two decades in private education here in Northern Virginia, I know firsthand about the county's attitude toward private schools, particularly with regard to Christian schools, both Protestant and Catholic.

In fact, the ISA sits on the property which used to be Fairfax Christian School. When Fairfax Christian School attempted to expand, the county said, "No!" and cited the problems with the road itself (Popes Head Road, a country lane in that particular section and a stretch of road which is curvy and susceptible to unpredictable episodes of fog). Indeed, Popes Head Road has been the scene of many accidents, some with serious injuries and fatalities.

With regard to the expansion of Fairfax Christian School, the county also cited that the location of the school came under the protection of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Act and, therefore, no expansion was permitted.

Of course, when the ISA wants to expand, the objections filed toward the Christian school go right out the window. BTW, that kind of abrogation is not typical with regard to private residents, other schools, and other businesses. The ISA is "special"!

Many residents in the Popes Head Road area don't care one whit about the teachings at the ISA. They do rightly object on the grounds of the problems with increased traffic on Popes Head Road.

As an aside, when Christian schools here try to expand on a two-land road, the county forces the school to make certain road improvements for the safety of traffic. As far as I know, the ISA hasn't been required to do so. I must say, however, that the dangers of Popes Head Road involve much more than just the stretch where the ISA is located.

I do note that the NPR article has information stating that the ISA has yet to submit plans. Strange. Typically, the county has to approve expansion plans before granting expansion.
